Not everyone who’s in trouble paying their heating bills or finding it hard to keep their home warm is able to pick up the phone and call us.
The Home Heat Helpline welcomes calls from people ringing for a friend, relative or neighbour. Our trained advisors work closely with the energy suppliers and dozens of social welfare organisations so we’ll quickly be able to tell you what grants, benefits and services there are available for the people you care about.
Before you call try to find out as much as possible about the person you’re ringing on behalf of such as age, the name of their energy supplier and what benefits they’re currently receiving.
If you’re a health or social worker, community worker, housing representative or Citizens Advice Bureau advisor calling on behalf of a client then the Home Heat Helpline can help you as well. Just call us on our free number 0800 33 66 99. If you have difficulty hearing you can use the minicom service on 0800 027 2122.
The following fact sheets are available for download. Please feel free to print them off or pass them on to your friends, relatives or clients.
