Help available for customers struggling with energy bills

The Home Heat Helpline campaign can play a key role in tackling fuel poverty and is at the heart of the energy industry’s support for NEA’s Fuel Poverty Awareness Day. The purpose of the day is to highlight the help available to people who need it most and the Helpline, which launched in 2005, aims to tackle fuel poverty by providing invaluable advice for vulnerable customers who may be struggling to pay their bills.

Help at hand for heating bills

More people than ever have had help with their heating bills from the Home Heat Helpline this winter. 44,700 callers picked up the phone to Helpline advisors between September 2013 and January 2014, 18,000 more than in the same period last year - a 72 per cent increase - even though it’s been the warmest winter for years. Later this week, the Met Office is expecting a cold snap to hit the UK.
