Free advice booklet to help you warm up this winter 8 October 2009
Home Heat Helpline Launches Little Book Of Energy
Consumers now have access to everything they need to save money and keep warm this winter, in the Home Heat Helpline’s Little Book of Energy.
The Helpline launched the free advice booklet on 8 October in Cardiff at an event which drew attention to the important role of the Home Heat Helpline in keeping vulnerable consumers warm throughout the colder months.
“The Little Book of Energy is a simple, easy to read guide for consumers who want to know how to reduce their energy bills. Keeping warm throughout winter is important for everyone’s health and wellbeing, but this book is particularly for people who may worry about paying their bills and keeping warm,” said Frances Williamson, Head of Policy and External Relations, Energy Retail Association. Irene Dixon and the Little Book of Energy
‘‘The Little Book of Energy is intended to help people to be more energy efficient around the home so that they use less energy and save money on their bills. This can be achieved through simple steps like making sure radiators are not blocked by furniture or covered by curtains and only boiling as much water as you need,’’ she said.
The Little Book of Energy also gives advice on grants for free home insulation and reduced or ‘social’ tariffs which can make a big difference in reducing energy bills.
To request a copy of ‘The Little Book of Energy’ or for more information, ring the Home Heat Helpline on 0800 33 66 99. The booklet is available in English and Welsh.
